Reeltown, AL

Set among the rolling, wooded hills of Tallapoosa County, Reeltown is a quiet rural community of around 800 people in east-central Alabama. The name traces back to the 1800s and the local O’Real family, though phonetic spelling eventually turned it into Reeltown. Country roads wind past spread-out homesteads, open acreage, and pine forests, creating a peaceful setting for folks looking for space and privacy.

The area has plenty of unique local character, including a memorable stint in the late twentieth century as home to an experimental kiwi farm. Today, community life centers around the local schools and Friday night football games at Reeltown High. For work, shopping, and weekend recreation, residents are just a short drive from Lake Martin, Tallassee, and the Auburn-Opelika area.
