Reklaw, TX

Reklaw is a tiny, peaceful East Texas community tucked away in the piney woods where Cherokee and Rusk counties meet. With a population of around 300 people, it offers quiet country living while keeping you only about ten miles from Rusk for groceries, schools, and everyday errands. Life here moves at an easy pace, centered around open land, friendly neighbors, and historic roots dating back to the railroad days of the early 1900s.

The town also comes with a fun naming story. When Margaret Walker donated the land for the original depot and found out another Walker, Texas already existed, residents simply spelled her last name backward. Today, local kids attend Rusk Independent School District, and aviation fans know the area for its beloved annual fly-in at the nearby grass airstrip.
