About Renaissance at Monroe

Renaissance at Monroe is a planned community and census-designated place in southwest Monroe Township, tucked into the southern edge of Middlesex County near the Mercer County line. The 2020 census counted 637 residents. It sits between the Millstone River and the township’s farm roads, with the New Jersey Turnpike less than two miles away and Freehold to the east. There is no old Main Street here; the place has its own built-in layout of homes, lakes, ponds, clubs, and internal roads.

Renaissance is a gated active-adult neighborhood for residents age fifty-five and older, with 347 homes spread across more than 100 acres. Clubs, sports, and social activities supply the calendar, while Monroe Township remains the larger frame around it. East Windsor is just across the county line, and Turnpike Exit 8 is the regional reference point for trips beyond the township. Renaissance at Monroe is a distinct Central Jersey enclave: a planned neighborhood with its own census line on an otherwise agricultural edge of the township.
