Reno Beach, OH

Reno Beach is a census-designated place on the southwest shore of Lake Erie in Jerusalem Township, Lucas County, Ohio, with 713 residents in the 2020 census. The CDP includes several lakeshore communities—Reno Beach, Lakemont Landing, Lakeland, and Howard Farms Beach—along a low shoreline east of Toledo. Dikes, canals, marinas, private beach lots, and the open lake give the place a map built around water and flood control. Stormwater management remains part of neighborhood life.

Henry Reno bought the lakeshore land in 1902, and the Reno Beach Amusement Company later developed dance halls, a theater, a golf course, and platted beach subdivisions. Floods in 1943 and 1972 damaged the shoreline communities; a permanent dike completed in 1993 helped protect the district. Today, Howard Marsh Metropark and the marinas sit beside homes and seasonal properties, while the Curtice post office serves the address.
