About Richwood
Richwood is a Union County village of 2,222 residents in the 2020 census, set at the junction of Ohio Routes 37 and 47. The street map gives you the basic local setup: the downtown business area is only two blocks from Richwood Lake Park, so the village's main civic and recreational spaces sit close together. Richwood grew out of Claibourne Township, surveyed in 1811, and the older crossroads pattern still makes the center easy to understand. Richwood Lake Park is where many village routines meet.
The lake supports catch-and-release fishing and electric-boat use, while the surrounding grounds bring together a walking path, camping, playgrounds, ball diamonds, basketball, pickleball, a splash pad, and shelters. Children's fishing contests, Little League, softball, and church lunches add recurring community use throughout the warmer summer months. The local scoop is that Richwood's scale is visible in that two-block connection: downtown errands, the lake, youth sports, and summer gatherings all happen within a short village walk.
