Ridgeland is a Jackson-area city in Madison County, set along the Ross Barnett Reservoir and the busy suburban corridor north of Mississippi's capital. Its history includes the early Choctaw Indian Agency, located in what is now Ridgeland in the early 1800s. Today the city is known for shopping and office development, including Renaissance at Colony Park, plus a Holmes Community College campus.
