Rio Linda, CA

Rio Linda is a census-designated community north of Sacramento, with roots in the Rancho Del Paso Mexican land grant of 1844. The Rio Linda and Elverta area later became known for poultry production, giving it a more rural and agricultural identity than many Sacramento suburbs. Local life also includes the Roy Hayer Memorial Racetrack and a spread-out residential pattern. Rio Linda sits close to the capital city, but it has historically carried a working, semi-rural character shaped by small farms, open lots, and local independence.
