About Riverside

Riverside is a Montgomery County city east of Dayton, closely tied to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It took its current shape in 1994 when Riverside merged with surrounding Mad River Township, and that relatively recent municipal history fits its spread-out feel. Mad River Local School District serves the city, while military employment, suburban neighborhoods, and Dayton-area roads define much of daily life. Riverside feels practical and defense-adjacent, with ordinary Ohio suburbia sitting beside one of the region's most important institutions.
