Rockaway Beach, OR

Rockaway Beach is a relaxed coastal town in Tillamook County with around 1,500 year-round residents. Stretched along seven uninterrupted miles of sandy shoreline, the community first grew as a vacation getaway in the early 1900s and has kept much of that vintage beach-town character. Highway 101 runs straight through the center of town, offering quick access to the ocean, calm paddling on Lake Lytle, and the historic Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad as it travels along the tracks.

Day-to-day life here moves at a quiet, unhurried pace. Local families are served by the Neah-Kah-Nie School District, while places like the public library, local cafes, and neighborhood parks serve as everyday gathering spots. Just inland from the beach, the Old Growth Cedar Nature Preserve provides an easy boardwalk trail beneath towering trees and lush coastal greenery. With year-round beachcombing, seasonal community events, and close-knit neighbors, it is a comfortable place to settle down by the water.
