About Rockledge
Rockledge's recreation network pairs athletic facilities with large wetland and scrub preserves. At Lake Betsi, a 110-acre city park supports fishing, non-motorized boating, trails, pavilions, playgrounds, and wildlife habitat. The 74-acre Dick Blake Park places a playground, soccer fields, skate park, and pavilion beside a paved route through scrubland to a wetland overlook; 30 acres remain a preserve. Indoors, the Frank T. Forester Recreation Center opens six days a week with a gym configured for basketball, volleyball, or pickleball, plus rooms for classes, meetings, workshops, and cooking programs. Space Coast Area Transit Routes 6 and 7 connect the city with Cocoa and Viera. The Indian River Lagoon remains visible in civic and event life. A restored 1927 municipal building sits on its bank among three National Register residential districts and rents its upper floor for workshops, lectures, receptions, exercise, dance, and yoga.

Rockledge Drive along the lagoon is also part of the Space Coast Marathon and Half-Marathon course; the city approved road closures for the November 2026 event, which was expected to draw thousands of runners. The 2020-2024 age profile tilted older: one-quarter of residents were age 65 or older, compared with 14 percent under age 18. Homeowners occupied 78 percent of homes. Median owner-occupied value was $338,100, median monthly owner costs with a mortgage were $1,749, and median gross rent was $1,820. Median household income was $84,255, and workers' mean travel time was about 23 minutes.
