About Rocky Fork Point
Rocky Fork Point is an unincorporated census-designated place in Paint Township, Highland County, Ohio, on the north shore of Rocky Fork Lake. The 2020 census counted 742 residents. The CDP sits about seven miles east of Hillsboro, the county seat, and is bordered on the east by Highland Holiday. Rocky Fork Lake is a reservoir on Rocky Fork, which flows into Paint Creek and eventually the Scioto River.
The lake gives Rocky Fork Point a recreation-based local map. Rocky Fork State Park and the surrounding Highland County visitor area bring camping, boating, fishing, and lake roads into a community that otherwise has the scale of a rural residential settlement. Anglers look for crappie, bass, walleye, and catfish, while the wooded hills around the water connect the neighborhood to the broader landscape of southwestern Ohio. Rocky Fork Point is a small lakeshore place whose name is also a piece of directions: find the fork, follow the water, and you are on Highland County’s north shore.
