Rosalia, WA

Set in the rolling wheat hills of eastern Washington's Palouse, Rosalia offers a quiet, small-town lifestyle about thirty minutes south of Spokane. With around 600 residents, the community has an easygoing pace centered around its local K-12 school, where sports and community events bring neighbors together. Named in the late 1800s by an early settler for his wife, the town keeps its classic agricultural character and friendly neighborhood feel.

Surrounding farmland and big skies give the area a peaceful, open atmosphere. Local history is close by at the Steptoe Battlefield site on the edge of town, which marks an 1858 clash between U.S. soldiers and regional Native tribes. Daily life is simple and unhurried, and with Highway 195 running right through town, commuting to Spokane or heading south toward Pullman is quick and straightforward.
