Rosburg, WA

Rosburg sits on the Grays River along State Route 4, about fifteen miles northwest of Cathlamet in Wahkiakum County. Christian Rosburg, the community’s first postmaster, supplied the name, and the river valley still determines how the place connects to the wider Lower Columbia. Timber, salmon, farming, and seasonal work shaped the surrounding communities; nearby Deep River preserves a history of tidewater roads, elevated plank walks, Finnish settlement, and logging camps.

Present-day life gathers around Johnson Park’s Grays River Valley Community Center and Rosburg Hall. The center includes a community library, exercise room, sewing room, gymnasium, and free films three Fridays a month, while Rosburg Hall hosts meetings, dances, bazaars, and other gatherings. A post office and Rosburg Store handle everyday stops, and the surrounding valley supports fishing, hunting, cycling, and drives to the Grays River Covered Bridge. Rosburg is a river community whose community life is carried by a few well-used rooms, a small store, and the roads that follow the water.
