Rose Lodge, OR

Set in the forested Coast Range along the Salmon River, Rose Lodge offers quiet, tree-covered living just a short drive from the Oregon coast. The community lines Highway 18, placing residents only four miles east of Lincoln City and Highway 101, with McMinnville and the Willamette Valley roughly 45 minutes to the east. The town got its name in 1908, when early settlers Julia and Oliver Dodson opened a post office and general store, naming the spot after an arch of roses sent by Julia’s father in California.
