Rosebush, MI

Rosebush is a village in Isabella County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 census counted 353 residents. The village is within Isabella Township, and is also entirely within the Isabella Indian Reservation, home to the federally-recognized Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation. Rosebush began in 1844 when Cornelius Bogan started a general store. That mix gives Rosebush a clear local shape within Michigan, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. He called the town Halfway because it was approximately halfway between Clare and Mount Pleasant. Rosebush is home to federally-recognized Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Nation.
