Roseland, IN

Roseland is a narrow St. Joseph County town at Indiana Toll Road Exit 77, one mile north of South Bend and beside Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College. Incorporated in 1916, it runs roughly four blocks wide and a mile long, with State Road 933, the Dixie Highway, cutting north to south through its center. The road gives Roseland its gateway reputation, but the town has a separate residential side east and west of the commercial corridor.

Hotels, restaurants, and small businesses line 933, while Roseland Park gives residents ten acres of recreation close to home. The LaSalle Big Bluestem Trail adds a mile-long walking and biking route, and Veterans Memorial Park gives the town another civic gathering point. South Bend Community School Corporation handles local school assignments, with Darden Elementary, Edison Middle, and Clay High in the school path. Roseland's week moves between highway traffic, college calendars, neighborhood streets, and town-hall business, all inside a compact strip that sits at the edge of a much larger metro area.
