About Rossville

Rossville grew from the 1828 settlement of Solomon Miller into a Clinton County town named for John Ross, one of the county's early judges. The Monon Railroad reached it in 1883, linking the town to the Indianapolis-Chicago line and shaping its commercial growth. Today the Rossville Consolidated School Corporation serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade, and State Roads 26 and 39 meet at the town's northwest Clinton County location. The Summer's End Festival has returned each August since 1984 with a parade, street fair, fireworks, car show, and town-wide garage sales. Rossville's history also includes a 1912 fire, a 1913 flood, and a 1961 tornado, giving the local story a record of disruption and rebuilding. A school, a two-road junction, and a late-summer festival define the current map.
