About Round Hill
Round Hill is a Loudoun County town at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about 12 miles west of Leesburg and 24 miles east of Winchester. The 2020 census counted 693 residents. Its name refers to a hill northeast of the town that was used as a Civil War signal post, and the town's geography still looks toward ridgelines, farms, and North Fork Goose Creek. The Appalachian Trail passes close by, with Bears Den and Blackburn trail centers about five miles away.
Round Hill has a local rhythm built around trail days and town traditions. The Hometown Festival brings a parade, 5K, downhill derby, and the kind of weekend schedule that gets the whole town outside. Main Street and the town park sit below the Blue Ridge, while Loudoun's larger road network is close enough for Leesburg errands. Round Hill is a small western Loudoun town where Appalachian Trail hikers, farm roads, and a Memorial Day parade all share the same stretch of valley.
