Saco sits right along the Saco River, directly across the water from its twin city, Biddeford. Commuting is also remarkably convenient for a town this size, thanks to the Saco Transportation Center downtown. The Amtrak Downeaster stops right in town several times a day for effortless trips to Portland or Boston, while the Maine Turnpike and Route 1 handle everyday driving with ease.

Down at the mouth of the river, the Camp Ellis pier is a favorite gathering spot for fresh seafood, boat watching, and salt air.
