Saegertown, PA

Saegertown is a Crawford County borough built around French Creek and the paired U.S. routes 6 and 19. The highway runs through the center, eight miles northeast to Cambridge Springs and six miles south to Meadville, the county seat, so the borough sits in a short north-south service corridor. The settlement began around 1796, when Arthur and Patrick McGill arrived in Woodcock Township, and it was incorporated as Saegertown in 1849 after years known as Alden's Mill.

The creek remains part of the town's physical shape, with the lighted South Street Bridge as a recognizable crossing. Penncrest School District serves local students through Saegertown Elementary and Saegertown Junior-Senior High, while French Creek Valley Christian School adds another school campus in town. The Jordan Family Foundation, created by lifelong residents who built a local business, supports civic groups and community projects. School campuses, the bridge, borough offices, and the two highways give Saegertown a practical center between Meadville and Cambridge Springs.
