Sands Point is a village in the Greater Port Washington area on Long Island's North Shore. It has a strong estate-country identity, with large properties, waterfront views, and institutions such as Sands Point Golf Club and the Village Club of Sands Point. The area's early 20th-century history includes Harbor Hill Country Club, later purchased by businessman and politician Julius Fleischmann. Sands Point feels secluded and affluent, with more in common with Gold Coast preserves and private drives than with a typical suburb.
