Sandy Hook, WI

Sandy Hook is a quiet river hamlet set along the bluffs of southwestern Wisconsin, right on the edge of the Mississippi in Grant County. With fewer than 300 residents, the community offers a relaxed, rural atmosphere while sitting just a short drive across the river from Dubuque. The name comes from the deep sand deposits left along the water, and while 1820s lead miners first put down roots in these hills, everyday life here has always been shaped by the river and the surrounding countryside.
