About Sanger

Orchard bloom still sets part of Sanger's civic calendar. The nearly 70-mile Fresno County Blossom Trail passes through farm country around the city as almond, citrus, and stone-fruit trees flower from roughly mid-February into March. Sanger holds its Blossom Trail Run on the first Saturday in March; the 29th running in 2026 drew more than 1,300 participants, the city's highest registration to that point. That agricultural season connects to the city's railroad past. The Southern Pacific depot, built in 1887 beside the Fresno-Porterville line, handled grain, citrus, and mountain lumber. After rail use ended, the building became the Sanger Depot Museum in 1977 and remains a tangible record of the industries that formed the town. Several daily services operate inside town. Five city parks accept reservations; the summer aquatic complex has a main pool, children's pool, slide, diving board, lessons, and open-swim periods; and the county library branch opens six days a week, staying open until 8 Monday through Thursday.
