Santa Claus, GA

Tucked away in southeast Georgia just south of Lyons, Santa Claus is one of the state's most unique little communities. The town started back in the 1930s around a roadside pecan stand, and it has happily embraced its festive identity ever since. It functions as a quiet residential neighborhood of around two hundred people, with street signs pointing toward Candy Cane Road, Rudolph Way, and December Drive. Residents make the quick drive into neighboring Lyons or Vidalia for work, schools, and groceries, keeping Santa Claus peaceful and relaxed. Come December, the community comes together for holiday lights, local celebrations, and thousands of greeting cards sent from across the country for the town's special postmark.
