Santo Domingo Pueblo, also called Kewa Pueblo, is a sovereign Pueblo community in Sandoval County between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, just off I-25. The 2020 census counted 2,311 residents in the CDP; the Kewa Pueblo community includes about 5,000 members. The Pueblo has been a central community in New Mexico for more than four centuries, with ancestral ties reaching back to Mesa Verde and Chaco Canyon. That boundary matters as much as the highway when you arrive. Kewa art is the local calling card: heishi jewelry, pottery, silverwork, and other crafts are part of a living tradition, not a souvenir label.

The August 4 feast honors Saint Dominic, and the Labor Day Arts and Crafts Market brings more than 350 Native artists to the area. Visitors need to follow Pueblo rules around recording, restricted areas, ceremonies, and dances.
