About Sapulpa

Sapulpa is the county seat of Creek County, with part of the city extending into Tulsa County. It was named for James Sapulpa, a Lower Creek man from the Kasihta or Cusseta town who became the area's first permanent settler. Today Sapulpa sits on the southwest side of the Tulsa metro, with older downtown buildings, Route 66 associations, parks, schools, and local industry. It feels like a real Oklahoma county-seat city that also functions as a Tulsa-area suburb.
