Sardinia, OH

Sardinia is a village in Brown and Highland counties, with 1,083 residents in the 2020 census. It was laid out in 1833 on the East Fork of White Oak Creek, and the name came from a Methodist hymnal popular in the 1840s. The village sits mostly in Washington Township, with a small portion in southwestern Highland County, giving it a two-county edge without losing its small-town center.

School and library life keeps that center active. Eastern High School serves the area, while the Sardinia branch of the Brown County Public Library gives the village a local place for books, programs, and countywide connections. Roads through the village still serve farms and homes across both counties.
