Sarepta, LA

Sarepta is a quiet rural town in northern Webster Parish, Louisiana, about twenty-five miles northwest of Minden and just south of the Arkansas state line. The community got its start in the late 1860s, when a local church took the name Sarepta after a resident named Sarepta Carter donated a Bible for the pulpit. A general store and post office soon followed, turning the crossroads into a home base for nearby farming families. That friendly, small-town atmosphere still defines the area today, anchored by longtime residents, local schools, and neighbors who look out for one another.
