Satellite Beach is a barrier-island city on Florida's Space Coast, incorporated in 1957 and shaped by the Atlantic Ocean, the Banana River, and nearby Patrick Space Force Base. It is very much a beach town, but with a space-era backdrop rather than a purely resort feel. Surf, reef, and ocean events fit naturally here, and the narrow geography gives daily life a coastal rhythm: water on both sides, military and aerospace nearby, and Cape Canaveral just up the coast.
