Schuyler Lake is the name of a small hamlet in Exeter in Otsego County, New York, United States. The 2020 census counted 189 residents. Schuyler Lake lies at the south end of Canadarago Lake and south of Richfield Springs. Schuyler Lake is also known as Kaniatarake, which is a Mohawk name that translates to "on the lake". Schuyler Lake makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Schuyler Lake is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. New York State Route 28 and Otsego County Route 22 intersect in the center of the hamlet. The hamlet was once served by the Southern New York Railroad, an electric trolley line that ran from Oneonta to Mohawk.
