Scofield, UT

Tucked high in the mountains at over 7,600 feet, Scofield is a quiet community centered around its scenic reservoir. The area started as a booming coal hub at the turn of the twentieth century, but today it functions mainly as a peaceful mountain getaway. With only a few dozen year-round residents, many properties are seasonal cabins for visitors escaping the summer heat and enjoying central Utah's high country.

In the warmer months, Scofield State Park draws boaters, campers, and trout anglers, while deep winter snow brings out snowmobilers and ice fishers. Living in Scofield means embracing extreme quiet, wide-open mountain views, and a slower pace, though everyday errands and healthcare require a drive down the canyon into Price or Spanish Fork.
