Scotch Meadows, NC

Scotch Meadows is a Scotland County census-designated place and unincorporated community in southern North Carolina. The place sits in a county shaped by Highland Scots, English Quakers, the Lumber River, Big Muddy Lake, and Juniper Swamp. Scotland County was formed in 1899 from Richmond County, and its rural map still includes communities such as Laurinburg, Laurel Hill, Gibson, Wagram, and Scotch Meadows.

There is no dense town center to describe here; the setting is a spread of fields, woods, and rural roads across the Sandhills. The county's agricultural history and heritage sites supply the wider context, while the Scotch Meadows boundary captures one named place within that landscape.
