About Scott
Scott is a small unincorporated community in Van Buren Township, LaGrange County, Indiana. Scott, originally called Van Buren, was platted in 1833. A post office called Scott opened in 1837, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1905. The short version is that Scott carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now. That is the local read on Scott: its past remains attached to the places people use now. Scott is located on the Pigeon River near the Indiana Toll Road, just about a mile south of the state border with Michigan.
