About Scottsmoor
Scottsmoor is a Brevard County census-designated place at the north end of the county, between Interstate 95 and the Indian River Lagoon near the Volusia line. James Garvin settled the area in 1861 through a Spanish Land Grant, and the community later picked up resort status in the 1920s. U.S. 1 runs through the northern Brevard landscape, while the lagoon forms the eastern boundary. Scottsmoor is a Florida place where a farming settlement, a county line, and the lagoon meet on one long north-end map.
