Searchlight, NV

Searchlight is a quiet, sun-soaked desert community of fewer than 500 people, tucked into southern Nevada about an hour south of Las Vegas and a short drive from the Colorado River. Founded during an 1897 gold rush, the town was once a bustling boomtown that actually had more residents than Las Vegas. Today, it offers a peaceful, slow-paced lifestyle with rugged mountain views and wide-open skies, with its historic frontier roots still celebrated at the local museum.

Daily living here is straightforward and close-knit. Most everyday amenities are grouped together in one central hub along Michael Wendell Way, including Harry Reid Elementary, the community center, the local library, and the town park. When you need major shopping or entertainment, Henderson and Laughlin are within an easy drive along Highway 95, and boating or fishing at Lake Mohave's Cottonwood Cove is just down the road.
