About Searchlight
Searchlight is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States, at the topographic saddle between two mountain ranges. The 2020 census counted 445 residents. The city experiences a desert climate with hot summers and cool winters, but it is not uncommon to see temperatures below freezing. Searchlight's elevation makes temperatures somewhat cooler than lower-elevation areas in the Mojave Desert, such as Baker, California; Needles, California; and Fort Mohave, Arizona. The district operates Reid Elementary School in Searchlight. In Searchlight, history and present-day settings sit close enough to belong to the same local picture. The map tells the story in Searchlight, where earlier chapters remain visible in current streets, buildings, and gathering places.
