Seaview, HI

Seaview is an unincorporated community and census-designated place on the eastern side of Hawaiʻi Island, with 512 residents in the 2020 census. It lies in lower Puna between Kamaili, Black Sands, and Kalapana, with the Pacific Ocean to the southeast. Hawaii Route 130 forms the northwest edge of the CDP, while Route 137 follows the coast and ties Seaview to the roads around Kalapana.

Seaview’s landscape is a mix of tropical vegetation, lava-country lots, scattered homes, and ocean-facing roads. The ocean is close, but the road network is the practical center of the community. The wider Puna map carries older Hawaiian travel routes as well as the modern highway corridor; construction of the Keaʻau-Pāhoa Road began in 1895, and today Route 130 remains the main inland connection. Pāhoa supplies larger services, while nearby Black Sands and Kalapana give Seaview its closest community landmarks. Seaview is a Hawaiʻi community where lava land, coastal roads, tropical homes, and the Pacific edge meet.
