About Seboyeta

Seboyeta is a census-designated place in Cibola County, New Mexico, United States. The 2020 census counted 164 residents. Seboyeta had a post office from February 5, 1885, to January 7, 1995. In 1746, Padre Juan Menchero persuaded several hundred members of the Navajo Tribe to settle at Cebolleta. Seboyeta makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Seboyeta is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. A mission was established for the purpose of converting the Navajo to Christianity.
