About Sedillo

Sedillo is a Bernalillo County census-designated place along Interstate 40 in New Mexico’s East Mountains. The community sits on the I-40 corridor near Sedillo Hill, where the interstate crosses the high country east of Albuquerque. Its place on the school map is split between Albuquerque Public Schools and Moriarty Municipal Schools, a reminder that the CDP is a named settlement with no incorporated town government. The old Route 66 story also runs through this stretch of New Mexico, with I-40 following much of the earlier road’s path. Sedillo is a small ridge-side place identified by the interstate, the East Mountain landscape, and the school-district line.
