Seneca, OR

Tucked into eastern Oregon's high Bear Valley along Highway 395, Seneca is a tiny mountain town right at the edge of the Malheur National Forest. It started as a busy timber hub during the railroad era, but today it is a quiet, close-knit place shaped by cattle ranching, open meadows, and pine hills. Winters get seriously cold here, but the tradeoff is peaceful rural living with hunting, fishing, and trail access right outside your door, plus an easy drive north to Canyon City or south to Burns.
