About Sevierville

Sevierville is the county seat of Sevier County and a gateway city to the Great Smoky Mountains. Long before tourism, the area included the McMahan Mound Site, a Mississippian-period village, and later became home to a notable community of free African Americans. Today Sevierville is closely tied to the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg tourism corridor, with outlet shopping, roadside attractions, and mountain traffic all around it. It is also famous as Dolly Parton's hometown.
