About Seward

Seward is an incorporated home rule city situated on Resurrection Bay on the southern coast of Alaska's Kenai Peninsula. Located about 120 miles south of Anchorage, it acts as the southern terminus of the Alaska Railroad and the primary gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Historically, it served as an important military port during World War II. Today its economy is driven by commercial fishing and tourism, welcoming major cruise lines and students attending Kenai Peninsula Borough schools.
