Seymour has always been a crossroads town, sitting right where the foothills roll up toward Bays Mountain and Bluff Mountain. Originally known as Trundles Crossroads before taking the name of a railroad engineer in the early 1900s, the community grew around the natural junction between Knoxville, Maryville, and Sevierville.
