Shasta, CA

Set in the wooded foothills about six miles west of Redding, Shasta is a quiet community with deep Northern California roots. Often called Old Shasta, it started as a bustling Gold Rush hub packed with miners, stagecoaches, and pack trains. Today, roughly a thousand people call the area home, living among the brick ruins and historic storefronts of Shasta State Historic Park that still anchor the center of town.
