Shawnee Hills, OH (Village)

Shawnee Hills is a Delaware County village on the west side of O'Shaughnessy Reservoir, part of the Columbus metro and served by Dublin City Schools. The 2020 census counted 835 residents. Its unusual shape comes from the 1920s, when more than 3,600 small lots were platted as a fishing resort on the Scioto River reservoir; many streets came first, while water and sewer had to catch up. Today Dublin carries the village's wastewater to Columbus under a service agreement, a reminder that the village's daily infrastructure is tied to larger neighbors.

Most local activity is residential and centered on the reservoir edge. Glick Park looks toward O'Shaughnessy Dam, the community pavilion and playground sit beside the police department, and the surrounding area includes the Columbus Zoo, Zoombezi Bay, Safari Golf Club, and Ohio Wildlife Center. Dublin Road is the main local corridor, while the reservoir and dam set the visual center. Shawnee Hills is a small village with a resort-lot origin that now functions as a residential pocket on the Scioto, with Dublin and Columbus providing much of the larger metro network.
