About Sibley
Sibley is a south Webster Parish town on U.S. 371, with Bayou Dorcheat and Lake Bistineau just west and the Kansas City Southern line running east-west through town. The tracks have been part of the daily sound for over a century, while the nearby Yellow Pine community carries a separate history of sawmills, railroads, the Yellow Pine Inn, and Yellow Pine Church. Locals also use the lake and cypress country for boating and fishing, so Sibley's map runs in two directions: railroad through town, water at the edge. It is northwest Louisiana in a compact town grid with a working rail line and a lot of bayou country nearby.
