About Siletz

Siletz is a Lincoln County city beside the Siletz Reservation, with the reservation boundary touching the town’s east, north, and southeast sides. The city’s history is inseparable from the forced consolidation of 27 western Oregon tribes onto the reservation, the later reduction of reservation lands, and the 1956 termination policy that stripped federal recognition from the Siletz people. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz now host the annual Nesika Illahee Pow-Wow, bringing tribal gathering and history into the town calendar. Siletz is an Oregon community where city streets meet a tribal homeland.
