About Slana
Slana is a census-designated place in Copper River Census Area, Alaska, with a population of 116 at the 2020 census. The name is derived from the Slana River that flows through the area. The Nabesna Road, passing through Slana, provides access to the interior of Wrangell–St. Elias National Park and Preserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby Porcupine Creek State Recreation Site offers camping and fishing in a dense boreal forest setting. The community is served by Slana School, part of the Copper River School District.
