About Smithfield

Smithfield is a Cache County city north of Logan, originally known as Summit Creek. It was founded in 1857 by early settlers including Robert and John Thornley and Seth Langton. Today Smithfield is a residential and agricultural Cache Valley community, with Sky View High School, local parks, and access to mountain views and nearby canyons. It feels like a northern Utah small city: family-oriented, practical, and closely tied to both Logan-area growth and the rural valley around it.
