Snook, TX

Located about fifteen minutes west of College Station, Snook is a quiet Burleson County community with deep Czech-Texan roots. Settled by Czech farming families in the late nineteenth century, the town still carries that heritage in its local gatherings, fraternal lodges, and community halls. For newcomers, it offers a peaceful rural setting with open land, quiet country roads, and a quick drive into Bryan-College Station for work, shopping, and Texas A&M events.

Daily life here revolves around the Snook school district and Bluejay athletics, where Friday night sports bring out much of the town. Once a spring, things get loud when Chilifest rolls in. The massive two-day charity chili cook-off and country music festival draws tens of thousands of visitors from across Texas, temporarily packing the pastures with college students and music fans. Once the festival clears out, Snook quickly settles back into its easygoing, small-town routine.
