Snowville, VA

Snowville is a census-designated place located in southeastern Pulaski County in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. The 2020 census counted 125 residents. Snowville is part of the Blacksburg–Christiansburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. On his journey through the area, Snow noticed the potential for water power present along the Little River and envisioned a town along its banks. The mountains surrounding Snowville were, and in many places still are, rich with iron ore. Another factory was the big shoe factory located along the Little River. That mix gives Snowville a clear local shape within Virginia, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. Across the Little River and just downstream on the Montgomery County side, the Graysons established Graysontown. Snowville is home to Camp Ottari.
